Praise be to Allah whose order is guidance and righteousness to the worlds, and peace and blessings be upon our master Muhammad the Makkian, the Qurashi, the Moon of Bani Hashim, the Sun of existence, the delight of the eyes, and the medicine of the hearts…, and his purified family, who held the banner of his Sunnah (Prophetic tradition).., and
his righteous companions who were guided by his guidance and followed his method. Oh Allah, bless our Master Muhammad, Your slave and Messenger, the illiterate Prophet, and his family and companions and give them peace and too many salutations.
Oh slaves of Allah, I recommend you and myself to fear Allah, and urge you to obey Him, and prohibit you to disobey Him and violate His order. I begin with that which is the best:
"O you who believe! Guard your duty to Allah, and speak words straight to the point; He will adjust your deeds for you and will forgive you your sins. Whosoever obeys Allah and His messenger, he verily has gained a signal victory" (Al Ahzab, 70-71).
Moreover,Oh beloved brethren, building civilization is a duty that is not only the responsibility of states. It is rather the responsibility of both, nations and states.
All of you belong to Adam, and Adam is from dust.
It is a duty in which small and adults, employer and employee, the rich and the poor, are all equal, and nobody is exempted from it.
As our nation is passing through a state of weakness at this time, our duty becomes more confirmed to hold the responsibility of building up civilization.
In this first meeting of ours, I'd like to talk about the elements with which we should all be verified while we are looking forward to building up our promised civilization.
1 - Human civilization cannot be built but with the existence of faith:
No matter how modern civilization has evolved, whatever technology has been used, and however they work, day and night, to develop their mechanisms..., modern civilization is still weak from within. Therefore, in the most civilized, advanced and developed nations, there is the crisis of suicide, and most of their youths drive themselves to death because they lack the internal support.
However much we try to build up civilization without faith and without the heart's attachment to Allah, and without being enlightened by Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), we shall be deluded. Faith is the fuel of human civilization, and without this faith, the vehicle of civilization will not be able to move on.
2 – Every one of us should have true feeling of responsibility: when this feeling is missing, everyone lives a state of selfishness. Accordingly, everyone should be responsible for himself, for his family, for his companions and friends, and for his society and country. Everyone should be responsible for every flower planted in a garden, and for the cleanliness of the roads that people go through.
Our children should be reared on this feeling from an early age. We should support it when we are young, and when we become old and aged. It is the feeling of responsibility we derive from the Exalted Allah's statement: "And stop them, for they must be questioned" (As Saffat, 24), for the true responsibility is that before the Exalted Allah.
3– We should understand reality well:
We cannot talk about arranging the future and reconstructing what is coming unless we understand our reality in which we live, with all its plights and diseases. Can an engineer build a building without studying the land on which the building will be erected in the future? The more we understand our reality with all its aspects, the more we can be a tool for future construction.
4 – Building the future construction should be based upon collective thinking not on an individual one:
There should be integrated Shura (cosultation) in which all share, for the Exalted Allah may inspire one of the wise with a useful idea that occurs to his heart; a successful and prospering idea, and this is the secret of the method of Shura referred to by the Exalted Allah when He talks about the secret of the success of His Ummah, and when He is proud of it: "And whose affairs are a matter of counsel among them", (Shura, 38)
5- There should be diligent work:
That is, the worker should be aware of his responsibility when he goes to the factor, and when he is in self-control in his industry. The Exalted Allah said: "And say {unto them}, 'Act! Allah will behold your actions, and {so will} His messenger and the believers" (At Tawbah, 105).
Consequently, mastery in work will be accomplished, whether one is an architect, a merchant, a worker or an employee, etc. ... .
Moreover, mastery of work and doing it in the best way is a legitimate duty.
6 – There should be perseverance and persistence, reviewing and preferring the most right:
The Prophet (PBUH) said: "Every son of Adam errs, and the best wrong-doers are those who repent".
So, if the process of following-up, reviewing and advising one another exists, the wrong-doer will be changed into a righteous, a sound and straight one on the road of construction.


7 – There should be awareness that all that I have mentioned above cannot be successful unless its motive is slavery to Allah:
The employee is different from the slave. Slavery to Allah makes man feel that he is ordered by his Master and his Supporter. It is a state that obliges us to have our hearts be present with the most perfect Slave created by the Exalted Allah, namely, our Master Muhammad (PBUH), who is described by the Exalted Allah as a slave:
(When the slave of Allah stood up in prayer to Him" (Al Jinn, 19).
This is our master, Solomon (PBUH), who was given by the Exalted Allah authority that nobody else was, nor will be given till Doomsday. The wind and jinn were made serviceable to him and were submissive to him, but when the Exalted Allah describes him and makes us be acquainted with his identity, He says: " How excellent a slave he is" (Sad, 30). This is how the great people are. They are great because they are slaves to non but to Allah.
akers of civilization are the slaves of Allah who opened Jerusalem in the first time. The Exalted Allah describes them as slaves to Him, and Jerusalem will not be opened for the second time, and our civilization will not be built unless we live the state of slavery to the Exalted Allah. Slavery is freedom from other than Allah.
If we are verified with the above mentioned seven items, and if we live their meaning and apply cooperation among us depending on righteousness and piety, we shall be able to build civilization. This is not so far-fetched if we apply them with sincerity to the Exalted Allah.
Allahum…, guide us to Your religion favorably, and make us from those who listen to wisdom and follow the best of it.
