Oh Allah, all praise be to You as You have allowed our hearts to be delighted on the occasion of this feast.
Oh Allah, all praise be to you as you have bestowed Your favors upon us on this day, the day of sacrifice…
It is the memory of Ibrahim, the father who sacrificed his own son, as well as that of the son, Ismail, who sacrificed his own soul.
When the slave is sincere, the Mercy of our Lord descends on him.
Consequently, the Exalted Allah established this day so that it be the day of sacrifice for all people. We slaughter the sacrificial animals on this day only to live these moments that the greatly honored father, Ibrahim (PBUH), and the Truthful, Ismail, experienced.
This day is the school of sacrifice. Consequently, the people of faith do not stop at the limits of this Nusuk (rituals), and mere slaughtering. The believer slaughters his sacrificial animal to remember and feel the great attitude of Ibrahim when he put his hand on the knife to slaughter the sacrificial animal and say: Bism Allah, Allahu Akbar (In the name of Allah, Allah is the greatest), Oh Allah, this is from You and to You.
It is the day of monotheism…; it is the day of Ibrahim… .
The pilgrims descended from Arafat, and all the believers' hearts descended with them and lived the occasion the pilgrims lived. The pilgrims performed the Nusuk of pilgrimage on Arafat, and all the Muslims, everywhere, fasted this day, the day of Arafah, but they all gathered on one Nusuk on the day of Nahr, thus all the Islamic Ummah become united on this occasion.
This is how sacrifice should be on the day Al Adha Id.
Al Mustafa (PBUH) said: "The first thing we do on this day is to pray, then we slaughter the sacrifice. Whoever behaves like us, he will have acted according to our Nusuk (rituals), but whoever slaughters the sacrifice before the prayer, then that will be just mutton (i.e. not sacrifice)".
He (PBUH) also said: "The most loved deed to the Exalted Allah on the day of Nahr (slaughtering the sacrificial animal) is shedding the sacrifice's blood. On the Day of Resurrection, the sacrifice will come as it is, with its horns, hoofs, and hair, and its blood will be esteemed by the Exalted Allah before it falls on the ground. So be pleased with it".
The Prophet (PBUH) sacrificed two Amlahain rams (more white than black rams), with big horns. He slaughtered them with his hands, mentioning the name of Allah, glorifying Him and putting his foot on each animal's face while doing that.
Oh Allah, bless, and give salutations and peace to our Imam, our Master Muhammad, who followed the religion of Ibrahim, and wanted this Ummah to follow this Ibrahimian straight creed.
Oh Allah, make us from those who listen to wisdom and follow the best of it.
